What a fun evening was had at The Kitchen Garden Cafe – so much laughter and memories – although it had its poignant moments too when Les Ross spoke about the time he spent with legendary Birmingham broadcaster, the late Ed Doolan shortly before he passed away.
Everyone with special BRMB memories came along to meet Les Ross, Robin Valk, Tom Ross, Jennie Wilkes, John Slater and others.
BRMB was a huge part of growing up in Birmingham for 40 years. For the first time since it’s last broadcast in 2012, the presenters came back together again to celebrate the joy of being a part of a wonderful, successful radio station.
A particularly sad time too with the recent passing of one of Birmingham’s favourite adopted sons – Ed Doolan. Profits from this special evening were donated to Ed Doolan’s Memorial Fund, set up to honour his commitment to the encouragement and development of the careers of young radio broadcasters.
Bringing along BRMB mementoes – this was an interactive evening with the audience playing a big part – as they always did throughout the years.
There was music, lots of photos and the magic only 40 years of broadcast memories could bring.
